Mango Pickle Recipie

Without my mom's Aam ka Achar, even the biryani is incomplete for me. I literally can have my mango pickle with every single Indian dish you name, be it dosa, chicken gravy, biryani, dal, or even with parathas; it's just increasing the taste of everything about 10 times!

I know it sounds hyperbole, but after making it this way, you will also love it. Ya, I know what you think. Instead of tiring ourselves, it's better to buy one from the store and just have it but you know what , there's a huge difference between commercially made and a homemade especially interms of taste .

Let's just first know the ingredients ;

  1. 1 kg Raw Mangoes (kacchi kairi)
  2. 1/2 cup of mustard seeds
  3. 1/2 cup of fenugreek seeds
  4. 1/4 cup of Red chilli powder (kashmiri Lal mirch )
  5. 1/4 cup of turmeric (haldi )powder
  6.  3 teaspoons of kalonji
  7. 1/2 cup of mustard oil or any other refined oil
  8. Salt 5 teaspoon ( you can add according to your preference as it also depends upon the raw mangoes )

Preparation Method :

  • So firstly, wash and cut the mango into small little cubes, and then keep it aside.

    • Prepare the achar's masala; for that, you have to grind mustard seeds with fenugreek seeds to make a fine, good powder.

    • After that, take a stainless steel utensil wherein you have to add this powder along with the rest of the ingredients, which are mentioned above, and just mix and mix.

    • Once done with good mixing, you have to add oil and again give a good mixing.
    • Once done, transfer it into a glass jar, and then, at least for 7 days, keep it in a shining, bright sunlight.
    • And the next very important step is to just ENJOY!!
    •
